What is a Bird Dog?
Submitted by Wright Davis, GaREIA Member & Birddog Lover
I know something about birddogs. I strongly suspect after being around some of you folks for a while, that I am the only member of this group who was born and raised below the gnat line. From your comments about birddogs, I would suggest as we say in Southwest Georgia: "You ain't from around here." As the owner of four dogs and a bird hunter, I know that birddogs are some of the smartest creatures ever created and they do four things extremely well:
1. They, like good real estate investors, know how to hunt (find the deals)
2. They know how to work a covey of birds (negotiate)
3. They know how to point (close a deal)
4. They know how to retrieve (bring home the money)
That's what a birddog does. If a real estate investor does not do these things, he probably ain't much of a real estate investor. As we say in the country: "If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch!"
