PROCESS
FOR GETTING INTO SUBGROUPS
New
Members Only
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION. Attend the New Member Orientation to learn about all GaREIA benefits including Subgroups. Complete the New Member Subgroup Application from the Investors' Handbook.
Walk-in Subgroups. New members should attend a minimum of three different Walk-In Subgroups (one subgroup per month) over the next three months.
These are held at the GaREIA office. At the end of each subgroup meeting, new members may ask the Leader to sign their applications. After the third Leader signs the application and three months have passed, the new member may fax or turn in the application to the GaREIA office for processing if and when the member wishes to join any of the subgroups that require an application.
ESTABLISHED MEMBERS
-
Established members can also benefit from attending walk-in subgroups.
-
Established members may obtain an application to attend a non walk-in subgroup from the General Meeting Subgroup Table or by contacting the GaREIA office.
ALL
MEMBERS
-
COMPLETE INFORMATION. Your must provide
all the requested information on your application in order
for it to be processed. Please write legibly to ensure that
all information can be easily read.
-
WHERE TO SEND THE APPLICATION. ALL APPLICATIONS
MUST BE FAXED, MAILED OR DELIVERED TO THE GaREIA office
located at 3920 N. Peachtree Road in Atlanta.
- WHAT
HAPPENS TO YOUR APPLICATION? After your application
is received at the office for processing, it is posted to waiting lists for the groups to which the member applied.
Once a month the lists are submitted to the appropriate subgroup leaders. It could take a few months to be invited to attend a subgroup
meeting. In the meantime, members may continue to attend the existing Walk-In Subgroups and seminars to build their knowledge and start networking.
- WHEN
YOU GET INVITED. Once the member is contacted, he/she should respond to the Leader as to current
interest in the group. Then the member should attend the next meeting. Once the member attends a meeting of the subgroup, he/she should let
the leader know if they plan to continue attending the subgroup. Regular attendance increases the cohesiveness and effectiveness of subgroups. Any subgroup member with three "no shows"
will be removed from the membership roster to allow room for members on the waiting list for that group. In such a case, the dropped member is required to reapply if he later decides to rejoin the subgroup.
- WHY
HAVEN'T YOU BEEN CALLED YET? Some subgroups are
full and new ones will need to be started. If a new subgroup
is needed, then a Subgroup Leader will also be needed.
A subgroup cannot function with out
a leader. If several months have gone by
and you have not received any invitations, you may contact
the Subgroup Coordinator to get the status of your application.
